Oudot had a classical education at the École nationale des arts décoratifs.
In 1923, he began a collaboration with Léon Bakst that lasted until his death. In particular, he produced sets for the Ballets Russes.

His admiration for the brother Le Nain marked the beginning of his work, with a stillness in the landscapes and figures.
His paintings evolved under the influence of Bonnard. His rigidly realistic canvases became more sensitive and poetic in the 1920s.

He participated in numerous exhibitions: Salon d'Automne, Salon des Tuileries, Salon des Peintres Témoins de leurs Temps, Galerie Druet, as well as in New York, London, at the Wildenstein Gallery, in Switzerland, in Zurich.

He was also responsible for decorations for the Palais de Chaillot and designs for the Manufacture des Gobelins and Aubusson.
