A painter, but also a draughtsman and engraver, his paintings can be seen, for example, in the Hermitage Museum and the British Museum.

Born at the Flemish Quay in the heart of Antwerp's port life, Peiser painted this world throughout his life.
The artist himself says of the sea, "I have looked at it so much, that it has become part of me. I don't even need to remember it anymore. I will instinctively sketch a ship, a wreck, the wooden poles of the mouths".
"Through all his bright and vivid paintings, it is as if snippets of a lived truth, of an emotion emanating from life itself, emerge and reach us," writes one critic.
