Jean de BOTTON 1898-1978

Born in Greece to a French family, he studied sculpture under Antoine Bourdelle and painting under Bernard Naudin at the Beaux-Arts in Paris.

He began exhibiting at the Salon des Indépendants in 1920, then at the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Tuileries.
At the same time, he designed furniture and posters.

Some critics see him as a major painter, and his works can be found in many museums.
Jean de Botton is unclassifiable: surrealism, cubism, fauvism... He explores all the currents, creating his own style.
