Originally, pampilles were small strands of trimmings forming pendants or fringes.
They were then used in jewellery and decorative arts, particularly for chandeliers.

The House of Baguès was created in 1840 in Auvergne by Noël Baguès.
At the time, Bagues' passion was liturgical bronze, which he made his speciality.
In 1860, with the widespread use of electricity, Baguès began to make lighting bronzes.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the chandeliers were exported to London, Brussels, New York, Rome and Cairo. In the 1920s, Baguès created his own models in fine ironwork.
