Marius Woulfart 1909–1991

was a French painter, engraver, lithographer, illustrator, and theater set designer of Russian origin. He was the son of the painter Max Wulfart (1876–1942), an artist trained at the Odessa Academy of Fine Arts and later at the École nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris,
who remained his sole mentor and exerted a decisive influence on his work.

The family, which had been living in Paris since 1903, became naturalized French citizens in 1927; the surname “Woulfart” is the original transcription of the family name.

A very active artist, Marius Woulfart regularly exhibits at the Salon d’Automne in Paris and participates in numerous art events, notably the Menton Biennale. His solo exhibitions are held at several galleries.
