The son of an economist father, he began his life in the trade.
He enlisted as a soldier in the 1870 war.
Prisoner in Switzerland, he is struck by the beauty of the landscapes and decides, when he is free to devote himself to his true passion: painting.

While working as a secretary at the National Assembly, he began to exhibit his paintings from 1895, under the name ofIwill, at the Salon and at the Société nationale des beaux-arts.

During his career, he won numerous medals at the various world exhibitions.When Iwill decided to devote himself entirely to painting, it was to pay tribute to nature. He devoted his entire life to landscapes, traveling tirelessly from Venice to Normandy but also the Pas-de-Calais and Flanders, the surroundings of Paris or even Brittany.
Iwill 's canvases are filled with gentleness. These subjects are often treated with the same colors, which he explodes on canvas in subtle cameos.
