Nicolas Landau (1887-1979),
a renowned antique dealer, liked to describe himself as a "specialist in unsaleable goods". L

He brought vanities, trompe l'oeil and cabinets of curiosities back into fashion. He loved objects of all kinds, bringing together forms, origins and periods. His peers called him "Princes Antiquaries".
