Here, Georges Stein presents the Avenue du Bois leading to the Arc de Triomphe. It's a view that he painted many times, as it is prey to the common bustle of the Grand Boulevards that so appealed to the artist.
Imbued with spontaneity, dynamism and movement, Georges Stein gives the viewer the sensation of participating in the scene being observed.
The perspective splits the scene in two, drawing us into its atmosphere. The car almost jumps out of the picture, giving us a sensation of unbridled speed.
