Here, Grand-Carteret subtly models the volumes, using warm flesh tones, enhanced by light shadows that hug the forms without ever hardening them.
Pastel allows for a velvety rendering of the skin, almost tactile, where light glides over the hips, back, and legs with great delicacy.
The environment is deliberately sober but structuring: cushions, sheets, and furniture are suggested by muted flat colors—browns, ochres, bluish grays—which contrast with the luminosity of the body.
This work asserts its modernity through its refined design and restrained colors.
