The Tronchin table owes its name to a Geneva doctor, Théodore Tronchin.
A specialist in bone diseases, he created this model with the cabinetmaker Louis Dufour.

The table is designed to facilitate the sitting position, thus avoiding scoliosis by keeping the back straight.

The Tronchin table is a desk with mechanisms that allow it to be raised or the top to be turned into a flap.
This piece of furniture conceals mechanics and racks operated by a crank.
