Art Nouveau touches on all forms of art and design, following the English Art and Craft.
It celebrates craftsmanship and advocates the union of decorative and fine arts to produce a total work of art.
The Art Nouveau repertoire is very floral with curved and sinuous lines. Our mirror has what is known as an umbrella motif at the top.
Although Guimard is world famous for his Parisian metro entrances, he also worked on other more intimate projects such as designing vases and furniture.
You can admire in the Musées des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, the bed, chairs and other items that he created in the art nouveau style for his bedroom.
