Is a complete painter, bohemian, traveler who takes a particular look at the world with his painting. Attracted to painting from an early age, he entered the Llotja School of Fine Arts, with Fèlix Mestres and Vicent Borràs as his teachers.

In 1930, when he was still almost an apprentice, he was awarded the School's bronze medal, and in 1936 he won a competitive scholarship for a study trip to Spain, which enabled him to travel and work in the rooms of the Prado Museum.

Throughout his life, Ignacio Gil has devoted himself to traveling around the Iberian Peninsula, as well as to various Islamic and Latin American countries. His work has been exhibited in Spain, France, the Philippines, Switzerland, the United States, Canada, Colombia and many other countries.

Draughtsman extraordinaire, agile with pencil and charcoal, Ignacio Gil has immortalized landscapes all over Spain, Mediterranean fishing ports, various European cities, etc., all captured by a rounded brushstroke and studied color.

The Balearic Island Council awarded him a prize for the many times he immortalized the land, people and sea of Ibiza.
