He was a pupil of Antoine Guillemet. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1879, then at the Salon des Artistes Français. He won a third-class medal in 1888 and a bronze medal at the 1889 Universal Exhibition.
He mainly painted views of the banks of the Oise and Paris.
