Emile GODCHAUX 1860-1938

Godchaux was a painter specializing in seascapes.
Originally from Bordeaux, little is known about his life. He is, however, well known to seascape enthusiasts, as he sold directly to second-hand dealers and gallery owners.
He traveled throughout France, tirelessly painting ports in the south, Brittany and Normandy.
His canvases always show a great mastery of light and shadow, and incredible skies.
