In 1955, Sinko won the prestigious Prix de Rome for a decorative project. This distinction enabled him to stay at the Villa Medici in Rome, where he was a resident from 1956 to 1959.
This stay had a profound effect on his artistic sensibility.
Armand Sinko is a figurative painter somewhere between post-impressionism and expressionism.
His best-known works include Still Life with Pears, now at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Les Trois Grues and Femme au Corsage Rouge. His style is characterized by a rich palette, supple forms and elegant composition, always at the service of deep emotion.
Sinko has exhibited in numerous galleries in France and abroad, including Paris, Rome and the United States. His work has been presented at such venues as Galerie Charpentier, Galerie Schneider and Galerie Maurice Garnier.
