Beurden has gradually developed a distinctive body of work that has established him as a leading figure in Belgium’s major art scenes, particularly in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, and Liège.

Deeply involved in the cultural life of his time, he also participated in events organized by the L’Élan group, exhibiting his works there from the very first exhibition in 1907.
Alongside his career as a painter, he devoted himself to art education: appointed professor of drawing at the Royal Athenaeum of Antwerp in 1908, he then joined the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1919, where he continued his teaching career and trained a new generation of artists.

Van Beurden II stands out for his ability to blend academic tradition with modernity. He favors subjects inspired by Greco-Roman antiquity and explores the beauty of the human body through poetic imagery and a luminous touch. His paintings harmoniously combine figures, vegetation, and classical architecture, creating dreamlike and serene atmospheres.

In his painting *Enchanted Garden*, five female figures stand out against a light-filled backdrop, evoking the grace and ritual gestures of antiquity. In the background, an ancient temple rises amid flowers and lush foliage, reinforcing the scene’s mythological resonance
