Winner of the Abd-el-Tif Prize in 1924, he spent time in Algeria between 1925 and 1930, and again between 1945 and 1950, exploring the rock engravings of the Tassili in the Sahara.
During this period, he exhibited in Algiers - notably at the Galerie Allard in 1923 and at the Salon Abd-el-Tif in 1926 - alongside Jean Bouchaud, Louis Berthomme Saint-André, Eugène Corneau and Abel Pineau.
Back in France, his refined style is characterized by idealized figures, often feminine or mythological, characteristic of Art Deco.
He also carried out prestigious commissions
In 1929, he created a mosaic and frescoes for the Waldorf-Astoria in New York and the Astoria Center of Chicago.
He died in Paris at the age of 65, in 1953 (or 1955), and his works are still exhibited, notably in a 1959 retrospective in Nantes.
