Prolific painter, varying the subjects, the techniques and the supports, he is in turn war painter, portraitist, decorator, frescoist, he is crowned of several prices during his career: the Chenavard prize in 1926 and the gold medal of the Society of French Artists awarded at the 1939 Salon.

From the 20s in France, a new reflection is set up around the sacred art, in which participate many great artists (as Maurice Denis, Le Corbusier or Soulages). Part of his art is devoted to murals for the reinvention of faith.
The artist also likes to paint Brittany, where he bought a house with his wife.
He also takes advantage of this to portray his family in touching and joyful scenes, like our painting.
