is a French painter of the Barbizon School. He is a figure of the second generation of painters of the Barbizon School in the line of Jean-Baptiste Corot - whose pupil he was - and Jean-François Millet.

He exhibited regularly at the Salon des artistes français. He won a gold medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition, and many of his paintings are in French museums.
