Mané KATZ (1894-1962)
is a Ukrainian painter, naturalized French in 1927.
He frequented the Paris of Chagall, Soutine and Modigliani. He is described as the painter of the Jewish soul.
In 1937 he won the gold medal at the Universal Exhibition.
His paintings can be found in the museums of Paris, London, New York
and Geneva.
A museum bears his name in Haifa, Israel.

Mané-Katzbegan his studies at the Beaux-Arts in Kiev in 1911. In 1913, he moved to Paris.
He travelled extensively, not only in Europe but also in the Maghreb and the Middle East (he settled in Israel for two years), and always returned to Paris.

Mané-Katz 's art seeks to keep the culture of the Torah alive.
His childhood was totally imbued with Jewish culture. His father, who was incharge of the synagogue, educated him according to the precepts of the Jewish religion
