Indeed, Choquet is also known for his many country scenes and landscapes. He also worked as a sculptor and exhibited at major Salons.
After marrying a Basque woman, he developed a great love for the southwestern countryside. From Bordeaux to the Basque country, his paintings are an ode to the animal and farming world.
In fact, he became a member of the Amis des Arts de Bordeaux.
His touch and palette are immediately reminiscent of the warm landscapes of his beloved southwest.
Our work stands out from his usual output. Softer, more colorful and more intimate. The entrance to a private and perhaps secret garden that the painter offers to the viewer's eyes.
