Painter of the Barbizon school He was a student of Corot, Daubigny and Bonnat at the École des Beaux-Arts.

He exhibited landscapes from 1875. Gold medal (Exposition Universelle 1889). Knight of the Legion of Honour in 1893; member of the Jury, hors-concours in 1900. Damoye was, in 1890, one of the founders of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts.
He was a member of the committee of this important artistic grouping.
Damoye will be among the best continuators of the tradition of his masters Corot and Daubigny.
His paintings are elegant, fine, radiant with a light touch, beautiful panoramic views.
