Our painting depicts a nude female figure, painted in a style evocative of the late XIXᵉ century.
The body, illuminated by a soft, warm light, stands out clearly against a deep, dark background of vibrant browns and blacks.
The treatment of the female figure, bathed in a soft light that cuts through the flesh against a dark background, recalls the style of Jean-Jacques Henner, master of nudes emerging from the shadows.
As with Henner, the body seems to emerge from a velvety penumbra, enveloped in an almost mystical halo.
The melting contours of the face, the pearly softness of the skin and the marked contrast between the luminosity of the flesh and the brown depth of the background reinforce this aesthetic kinship.
