DAGNAC-RIVIÈRE Charles Henri Gaston 1864-1945
French painter, of compositions with characters, typical subjects, figures, landscapes, still lifes, painter with the gouache.
A student of Jules Lefebvre, Gustave Boulanger and Benjamin Constant, he made his debut in 1885 in Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he was named a member in 1898.

He received an honorable mention at the 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris. He then appeared at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts where he was a member of the jury.
In 1910 he appeared at the Brussels Exhibition. He exhibited for the last time in 1938. In 1932 he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
He painted subjects inspired by oriental life and its typical characters: Turkish Port - The Carpet Fitters. The enamelled tone of his still lifes reminds us of the work of Monticelli.
