Born on May 31, 1880 in Saujon (Charente-Maritime). Died on April 8, 1971 in Paris. 20th century. Frenchman.

Painter of allegorical subjects, nudes, portraits, landscapes, animated, flowers, watercolorist, painter of tapestry cartoons, draftsman, illustrator. Postimpressionist.

Previously, the sculptor also worked at the Manufacture de Sèvres. He has received numerous awards at major exhibitions.

He was a student of Cormon and Ruper Bunny. Between 1905 and 1931, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français of which he became a member in 1912, the year in which he received a travel grant. He participated in the Salon d'Automne between 1913 and 1938, the Salon des indépendants from 1921, the National Fine Arts from 1933 to 1936 and the Salon des Tuileries. He also exhibited in Brussels in 1910 and in 1925, while he participated in the Exposition Interationale de Paris in 1937. Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1925, he was made an officer in 1952 and Knight of Arts and Letters in 1961.

If he painted landscapes, portraits and flowers, he is also the author of several decorations including those for the town hall of Aubervilliers representing the allegories of the Offering and Work, he made cartoons of tapestries and illustrated the Servant Mistress of the Tharaud brothers, The Country of Aunis and Saintonge of H. Talvart and Vaux de Foletier, while he illustrated a book he was the author: Ré, île accueillante.
