Du Mont painted classical genre scenes in the troubadour style, with lots of musketeers and beautiful ladies.
He also appreciated still lifes, with beautiful flowers against a dark, brightly colored background.
He has a great sense of detail and drawing, which can be seen in our composition, highly rhythmic with the dancing figures, but also in the architecture that punctuates the background.
He takes great care with each character, their facial expressions as well as their bodies.
