Eugène PIRON (1875-1928)
was a French sculptor and medalist. A student at the École des Beaux-Arts de Dijon, then the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris, he trained with renowned masters.
Winner of the Prix de Rome in 1903 for his bas-relief Dalila delivers Samson to the Philistines.

He became known for his commemorative sculptures, busts and medals, often marked by an academic style and fine detail. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des artistes français and received several awards for his work.
Some of his sculptures still adorn public monuments in Burgundy and Paris. His work exemplifies the tradition of French figurative sculpture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
