Gaston CADENAT 1905-1966
A sculptor from Marseilles, he decided to study at the Beaux-Arts in Paris.
He studied in the workshops of Auguste CARDI, Jules COUTAN and Paul LANDOWSKI (sclupteur du christ de Rio ).
His talent was recognized by his peers in 1930, when he was awarded second place in the prestigious Grand Prix de Rome, and first runner-up in 1935.
In France, he received medals for his Salon exhibitions.
He receives numerous commissions from the government and public authorities.
These works are part of the art deco movement. "His works are studied, balanced with elegance in the lines."
Our work is a study for a large monumental frieze, probably for an official building.
