Miralles y Gallup was a painter of modern elegance whose meticulous touch earned him great success.
He soon became the most famous Catalan painter to have lived in Paris.

Born into an entrepreneurial family in Valencia, Francisco moved to Barcelona with his family at the age of five.

At the age of 18, Francisco Miralles obtained his parents' consent, as well as financial support, to continue his studies in Paris and perfect his art.
He settled in Montmartre and rubbed shoulders with the great French painters and art dealers.
He exhibited regularly at the Paris Salons from 1875 to 1896, as well as at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris. At the same time, he participated in the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts exhibition in Barcelona.
His innate gift for drawing was rewarded with a silver medal at Dieppe in 1875 and at Angoulême in 1877, as well as a gold medal at Montpellier in 1885.
