This low piece of furniture, which can be used as a bookcase, is made of mahogany and mahogany veneer, with pilastered uprights and blackened wooden claw feet.
The Directoire style arrived after the revolution, from October 26, 1795 (4 brumaire an IV) to November 9, 1799. The Directoire style lasted until 1803.
The Directoire style is characterised by its sobriety and simple forms: straight, elegant lines, sharp blind corners and flat surfaces.
