Galien Laloue is one of the best-known painters for his views of Paris.

Gifted with great facility, he produced an abundance of works, mainly in gouache and small format, almost exclusively depicting the most picturesque parts of Paris, notably the Grands-Boulevards.

It enjoyed a certain reputation at the turn of the century, in the so-called "happy" era of omnibuses and fiacres, by evoking the exact atmosphere of Paris in 1900.

Part of his production is also reserved for landscapes and seascapes.

His works can be found in all the world's major museums and private collections.
