Mério Améglio was born in San Remo but spent his childhood in the south of France.

He decided to go to Paris to perfect his skills, and went back to the capital by painting the landscapes he crossed.

In Paris, he settled in Montmartre and built a reputation for himself by painting street scenes and urban landscapes. He exhibited for the first time at the Salon in 1938. One of his paintings, the Cathedral of Caen, received an honorable mention.

After the war, he continued to live in Montmartre and regularly exhibited in galleries in Paris and the south of France (Cannes, Nice, Menton). In October 1969, the Cambaceres Gallery (Paris) organized a retrospective of his work. Mério Ameglio died in Montmartre in 1970.
