With a predisposition for drawing, and later painting, Jules-René Hervé moved to Paris in 1908, where he continued his studies at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs.
He exhibited for the first time at the Salon des artistes français in 1910.

Jules-René Hervé is considered the last of the Impressionists.

Indeed, he ignored the trends and fashions of his time and the avant-gardes in order to devote himself to his own style.
