Edmond ALET 1867-1917
Cabinetmaker, painter, engraver, like his brother Maurice, he has all the talents
Originally from Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Maurice and his brother Edmond came from a modest background of bakers.
They settled in Toulouse at the end of the 19th century and attended the wood workshop taught by Jean Rivière at the city's School of Fine Arts.
Marked by the teaching of their master, they have at heart to be part of a neo-regionalist but modern current, with the motto "The beautiful in the useful".

In 1898, the two brothers joined forces to found the store La Ruche, at 26 rue Saint-Antoine-du-T, where they made and sold furniture.
Maurice designed the furniture, Edmond made the drawings and Marie-Françoise, his wife, the marquetry.
The business will flourish.
Besides marquetry, Edmond paints soft and poetic works that magnify the everyday.
Landscapes and interiors with a beautiful pointillist technique like ours.
