In Paris, he attended the workshops of Jean-Paul Laurens and Benjamin Constant, then exhibited for the first time at the Salon in 1900. Life in the capital was difficult for him. Mobilized during the Great War in the same unit as his son, himself a painter, he returned to the southwest and settled in Castanet-Tolosan in the 1920s.

His favorite subjects, Lupiac draws them from a reinvented and sometimes dreamed Antiquity, and for decoration, the landscapes of Lauragais.

Recognized for his craft, the artist received several public commissions. We owe him a part of the decor of the City Council room of the Capitole with notably "Le Vent d'autan".

He was co-founder in 1905 of the Société des Artistes Méridionaux.
