He began his studies at the Beaux-Arts in Paris.
From 1909 onwards, he exhibited his work at the Salon, winning an honorable mention, an agent's medal in 1921 and a gold medal in 1939.

In 1926, he was appointed official painter of the Navy.

He reveals himself particularly in the treatment of sunrises or sunsets.
His landscapes of countryside or more industrial, are filled with a soft luminosity bathing the elements in a poetic atmosphere.
