Maurice BLUM (1832-1909)
is a French painter of genre scenes and portraits.
He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, where he spent four years (1846-50), then in Paris, where he was a student of Delacroix and Stevens.
He made his debut at the Lyon Salon in 1858

He settled in Paris in 1864, and from 1865 to 1891 exhibited portraits, interiors, old and modern genre subjects, especially circus scenes and military paintings.
